you guys see monster garage tonight?
it was pretty cool, they had a mercedes suv and converted it so it was wheelchair accesible , did it up real nice then went to a young guys place who was in a car accident that left him paralized from the chest down, anyways he let the guy take it for a rip and when he got back he gave it to the guy, it was pretty cool

That was a good one, I liked the wheelchair one, it actually had a purpose!
I also liked the rock crawler that they made out of the bronco!!!

The best one so far IMO was the SLAMboni!! They even had Richard Zamboni come in and be a part of the design team!!! And the retired shop teacher on that crew was HILARIOUS!! he was the typical temp tantrum throwing teacher.
I haven't seen the latest on Monster Garage but it's nice to see that he built something that is going to be totally useful to someone. People may say that Jesse James is a sell out etc blah blah blah, but I also hear is a great family man and this wheelchair buildup just shows that his heart is in the right place

What time was that on?? The one I saw last night was Monster Nation 3, where he had a bunuch of high school students put together a 5/8 scale Chevy racer. I have seen the SUV one before a few months ago though.

I disagree with them giving the car to the guy. He was paralysed from street racing. He was going 100+ and lost it and rolled or something. He shouldn't get a hopped up Mercedes SUV or any other car for that matter. He could have killed someone and they give him a car! Not right.

i didn't know that. they should have given it to someone who was injured by a wreckless driver.

not to sound heartless (which i have been accused of on more than one occasion) but i have to agree that he shouldnt have received that car considering how he got into the postition he was in. it was kind of a letdown on the show for me. lots of deserving younger folk out there that are handicapped through no fault of their own that would be more deserving.

Wheel chair car
Ya know those wheels Jess James makes, makes that Benz look like a pocket car for a little kid.
Got that "bling, bling" going on.

Oh, I never heard that part. ANyone that is injured by taking part in street racing, doesn't deserve a penny. We had a guy that we went to high school with get into a rollover when he has drunk and speeding. He ended up paralyzed from the waste down and still received $250,000 from insurance. He also had cars and trucks bought for him by insurance that were modified for hand throttle and brake so he could still drive. That's just wrong!!

they never said he was street racing, all they said was that he crashed going an estimated 137 miles an hour, he couldve been going that fast for a number of reasons, still doesnt make it right but people shouldnt jump to conclusions, just b/c someone was going fast doesnt mean they were street racing

I don't think there is a single one of us that can honestly say we didn't do something stupid.
No matter how the guy got injured, his injuries are permanet and his life has been changed forever. I think it's safe to say that if there was a lesson to be learned, he learned it and has paid for it. I am glad to see they made a truely useful project, and extended a helping hand to a fellow human being. With that said...please don't streetrace, or drink and drive. The life you save may be your own. Chris |
