Question what color wire for the dimmer on hdlt switch?

im putting in a new stereo and there is a wire for a dimmer to light the radio face up and work off the headlight switch. but i need to know what wire is the one that dimms the dash lights so i can splice into it to make my stereo light up with the dash lights.
what color is the wire on the headlight switch????

white for the dash lamps, gray for other like hvac controls and such, but you do not need ot splice anything, just plug the wire for radio face into the spot on the fuse panel for instr clstr lamps, im unsure why ppl ignore the fuse panel when adding things to truck, there are all kinds of ports for extra power sources and such
