Question about motor mounts????

I am in the process of changeing out my engine. I have the motor mount towers that has the hole in the center, and the bolt goes through and bolts up to the motor mount on the engine. I really don't like these type. What I was wondering. Can I put another set of towers on my 72, that take the clam shell type mount? Where the bolt goes through ( side ways ) through the mount on the engine? These are the ones say off of an 81 through 87 truck. I hope I wrote this to where you guys understand what I am wanting to do. The oringal mounts on these trucks are hard to deal with, that is why I would like to change over to the clam style motor mounts if possible.

There is nothing that will bolt right in if thats what you want to know, Now you can use the car style motor mounts and make your own fram mounts, you can use 3/16 flat steal and bend them up to fit, I did this in my 56 pickup when I switched from the original 6 to a V8. Unless you would like to use something like these that I have for sale, They came with my new IFS set that I couldn't use and I will take $85 includes shipping.

good to know. Oh btw, do you guys happen to know the size of bolt that goes through the tower and screws into the mount?

I put later model clamshells in my 68 i took them out of a 81 the top two bolts lined up i had to drill the bottom one Alot easier to stab than the old originals and IMO better mount cause if the rubber breaks the engine wont take off as far.
