Killer 383

Went by the brother-in-laws shop today and there was about a 96 Sinlge cab step with a 383 in it. Dyno'ed at the wheels 421 hp and 410 ft lbs. Had some juice too, but it wasn't hooked up. God that thing was awesome. Sorry no pics either, did not have my camera.

I know your kidding. My 11:1, 230@.050, 388 is going to make a crank HP in the area of 440, which is a little BELOW what that guy has with 420hp at the wheels. Thats not mild.

I would say that is close to a 500hp engine at the flywheel. Sounds impressive to me. WTF?

Please, please, find out how it is dead silent. I am wanting dead silence on my truck. I figure if a 500 hp truck has some silent mufflers, I am needing what he has.

If you calculate an average of 20% for drivetrain loss thats 505.2 at the flywheel. Considering it's a SWB truck that's just a little more than a"mild build-up...daily driver type deal...
