Question Best way to install headliner & trim in non-deluxe truck?

I recently bought the headliner and trim and now want to put it in, in my non-trim truck. The trim still has the clips but I'd imagine it would be easier to cut those off and just drill extra holes. Who here has done it and what was your process?

I did it............I broke the tabs off the trim and used screws (no more than 5/16th".) Ya wanna be really carefull drilling or you will go through the roof. I used adhesive on the headliner itself.

Should I assemble it and get two other guys to help hold everything up and in place while I drill and screw it in?

You need to glue the headliner in, and make sure it is glued in real good. The trim doesn't really hold the headliner up there, it just maked it all look better.
I agree with removing the clips, but there is no need for extra holes.
I also agree with being very carefull on the screw length. ve very carefull.
You'll want to cry if you look out on the roof after you install a headliner and you see this.

I taped the trim up and marked, drilled holes. Then glued the headliner up before installing the trim. You can make a t out of some wood to help hold the headliner as the glue sets. I did it by myself.

Perfect. Thanks guys, at my rate I'll probably get this in about 8 months from now.

Andy, your cab was the first thing I thought of when I was thinking about doing this several days ago!:p
