Anyone ever use Keystone Automotive body panels?

I need a hood bad, but cannot afford to buy a new GM one. I have heard Keystone makes nice quality sheet metal, but would like your opinions.

The hood is $160 and is local.

If you have not used Keystone, I would like to know what you used and a price if possible.

Thanks!

my hood is fiberglass, but i got a fender and door from a place called Certifit. they fit good but the metal seems a little bit on the thin side. my buddy got a hood from them for his 88 and he likes it. i think his hood was $50 but i dont know about a 73-87 hood.

I think they're good. We have a local place up in Stockton, and they worked on my vette hood, came out real good. I'm planning on buying bumpers from them.

Jeff, i wouldn't be afraid to use keystone... i got a set of front fenders for my ride and the fit is incredible for an aftermarket part. i am very pleased with them.

i saw some pics of your resto.... things are coming along well... i'm hoping to complete my painting in a month or so...

Thumbs up

Thanks man, it hasn't been easy to say the least. The fenders, inner fenders, doors, core support, front valance, and the hood (after I purchase it) are currently beeing worked on as we speak. I am having the body work and paint done by someone else since I am not a body man by any means.

I have been following your resto as well...I wish I had the time and space you did...if I did I would have no problems tackling the paint and bodywork myself. Good job on yours as well!

Thanks everyone for your help, I am going to purchase the hood tonight!

Jeff, see if they might offer it in their "Platinum Plus" line. Those parts fit very well. They have a little more exacting standards than the regular line of parts. Not all parts are offered in that line though. Do try to get one that is CAPA certified. CAPA sets guidelines on the fit of parts.

FWIW, I bought the front end parts on my truck from Chris' site before I took it over. I bought the inner and outer fenders and a Goodmark hood from him. I was pretty pleased with how the parts fit. If you could swing a Goodmark hood, thet would be the way to go, IMHO.

How much did the hood set you back, including shipping if possible?

It seems like everythink was about $800, IIRC. That was the fenders, inner fenders, and hood, plus shipping for all of it.

A friend of mine had gotten bedsides from Cerifit.

He seemed happy with them, and they were reasonably priced.
