Think I'm getting out of the truck, Help needed..
I am highly contemplating selling everything I have for my truck.. With the two Grandsons and Grandma, It just isn't going to work, there's no room in the front of our trucks for four people. I think I'm going to need a Car of some kind to fix up..
Maybe you guys/gals could help me figure out what I can hope to get out of it. I won't part it, ( unless it was pre sold ) Here's a short list of the partial stuff. I'm keeping the engine, tranny, and stereo stuff, but any extra body parts, etc. will go. the rear end is factory Chevy, I installed 4:10 Gears, along with an Auburn Heavy Duty Limited slip unit. 4" 6" drop, 2" spindles, 2" springs. It is "C" Sectioned in the rear with a "Flip Kit" The front end was accomplished with a "disc Conversion" kit From Tuckers out of Vegas, It has dropped shocks, It has not seen the road since this work was completed. It still needs the front end aligned. 6 lug Ultra 52 Mag wheels ( tires are also new I'll keep them) The body has an absolute minimum of rust. Comes with, an Aries, split bench seat, ( really needs recovered) It has a Blazer tank, New Sport Mirrors, new chromed glovebox door, Two sets of Stepside fenders, N.I.B., Bed bolt kit, N.I.B. paintable bed strips, It has a 4" Cowl fiberglass hood on it, with a stock hood to go with it. extra new front pass. fender. New billett Grille, There's a "Lund" fiberglass sun visor. New Factory tinted windshield, Nice A/C dash, much of the A/C stuff,(it's a Non A/C cab) Auto, column, stick column, most of the linkage for both. There's more, I have a more comprehensive list for anyone that would be interested. What do you think i should realistically ask??? I would be willing to do a trade for the right car, Body for body. |

This does not address your question, and I'm sure you've though about this, but why not get a burb? Unless you're got your mind set on a car, it sounds like you can retain most of your investment in parts. Unless you find a person with the same "vision" as you, I don't see you coming close to breaking even selling as a "turnkey" project.
My 2 cents, and best of luck. Hope you stay in the truck crowd.

Old wagons are cool too, if you are looking to go the car route.

Suburban/Blazer.........
Find one and transfer all the stuff from the pickup to the burb/blazer. Plenty of room for the crew. Sell off the parts you don't use to try and recoop what you invested for the other. I think you would be a bit ahead that way and still have the truck side. Like was already mentioned, project vehicles in piles don't tend to get much in the way of sales because the buyer probably doesn't have the same vision as you.

Even tho I like the blazer better than a burb (I am biased ) I think a Burb would be the best thing for you because of the ease of getting in and out of the backseats for the passengers. If Grandma wants to ride in the front and the 2 grandson's want the back seat then a blazer is the way to go. With all of the stuff you have you should be able to find a guy that would trade with you for a nice burb or blazer. A 2 wheel drive blazer or burb is your best bet! Good luck!

I wasnt planning on selling the burb right away, I am just going to get it running first, then after I fix it up a bit, decided what to do with it.

No problem, when I said that I was rather annoyed with the amout of rust that it has, which I did not see when I bought it. but now that I have it, I am going to fix it up so its driveable, then just use it for a while, and decide later what to do with it.

Maybe I'll start hitting the used car lots and watching the papers, I have a 4X4, that's the reason I lowered this old girl in the first place three years ago, Before that I had her raised Three and four inches over stock. And if I have to get rid of it, Then I might as well change completely. A 60's wagon doesn't sound like too bad of an idea.... We'll see what pops up around the corner. Thanks everyone,,, Ron |

I've had my first serious offer on her,,, I was talking to a guy at the casino about it, He wanted to see it, We came by the house and he offered me an Old 69 Scrambler Rambler,, It's in Hobby state also,, (torn down) I used to love putting Chevy Motors into anything I could get my hands on, Maybe another one ?????
To you young innocent types, The Hurst/SC/Rambler, was a Wolf in Sheeps clothing, It was Painted RED/WHITE/BLUE from the factory, Had a Big air Scoop on the Hood, and a 390 hidden under that Scoop,,, It may have been a RAMBLER, But they really did Kick Butt !!! This is what they looked like.. |
