Gibble: How to repair dashpad speaker holes?
Has anyone fixed these?
Has anyone used a mesh or different grille material? What can be done. I thought about cutting this part out and replacing with some gutter guard with border of some kind. Or simply making smooth.

I actually haven't gotten to that on my dash.
I filled them in when I fixed my dash, and then cut two 3" round holes where my speakers are. I have yet to put covers on them, I'm thinking I'll just buy some speaker covers and attach them over the holes, but I don't know yet... |

well those are not really that bad yet compared to most. Nothing I found will work to atually fix that vinyl. A Coverlay dash cap will solve the problem forever. You could get some sort of flush mount grille and paint same color as dash. DAVE

I can't find the original topic that gibble made about this, but how would a guy go about retexturizing a door panel after sanding it down smooth? Mine are faded, and have some shallow gouges along the top and I really wouldn't mind fixing them rather than trying to find a set of blue ones in good condition with the same speakers on them.

I repaired my whole dash last year as an experiment but the same cracks redeveloped. I did cut out the speaker areas and installed a set of Jensen 4" rounds with the Jensen grilles. This worked out really well.

Russell, use paintable rocker guard over the panel to get the new texture
