where does this need to be pluged into?

the big metal hose that it is using is just getting in the way. is there anyway i can replace it with a rubber one?

It needs to be plugged into the T on the back of the intake behind the carb. Your heater also uses this T using a small rubber hose from the ball (passenger side next to the heater hoses). The other end goes into the modulator on the tranny passenger side. It should be brass colored and the end will be facing the rear of the truck that you need to hook up to.

I wouldn't see a problem using a rubber line since most other ports use rubber hoses on the HEI and heater as long as you have it out of the way for the headers.

good, cause i'm off to the parts store tommorow to pick up some misc. things.

so i have to use the T fitting in the intake? i cant connect everything in through the carb? or only have a different "not so big" fitting in the intake? and only connect 1 thing up to it

You can connect it anywhere that has full manifold vacuume. The T-fitting is usually the easiest to stick it to because you won't have to route it around the carb.

I would run metal line with rubber hose on the ends to connect it. Less of a chance for the hose to collapse on itself.

i ran some rubber hose for it. it fits so much tighter around the connection on the tranny now. the hose is pretty thick too. the stock metal line was VERY flemsy. this hose wont collapse
