Swapping in a NV4500 trans

I'm thinking of swapping out my SM465 for a NV4500 5 speed in my 68 C10 burb.
Does the newer trans just bolt in, or am I on drugs?
I'm concerned with bolt pattern, and spline counts, and that sort of thing I imagine. Does anyone have any knowledge on this?

Okay, on my own I found info on the NV4500, but what I dont have is info on my SM465.
Info I need is
1. INput spline count of SM465
2. Bell housing bolt pattern of sm465
3. Diameter of INput shaft pilot of SM465
4. INput shaft throwout bearing diameter SM465
5. Total 'stick out' length of INput shaft SM465

If anyone has a 465 laying about, and a caliper, perhaps...???

If anyone needs it, I have a good deal of data on the NV4500.

That and it keeps popping out of gear when in third. And when its cold, you cant shift out of first without a fight. Plus, highway speeds and mileage are factors as well.

Here is as much info on the NV4500 as I have been able to find.
There are 3 basic chevrolet models, 1993-94; 1995; 1996 to present.

The 1993-1994 have the lower first gear, 6.34 ratio. they have the early style bellhousing bolt pattern, which is top horizontal measurement of 10.078", bottom horiz., 10.394", and vert. meas., 4.685"

Bearing retainer on input side is 5.125" (Matches SM465!)
Throwout bearing diameter 1.373"
10 spline input shaft
Input shaft 'stickout length: 6.625
Pilot diam.: .590"

the 1995 trans is identical to the 1993-94 except that it has the 'improved' first gear ratio of 5.61, which cured some problems that apparently plagued the 6.34 ratio.

In 1996 to present transmissions, they were resized to match the Dodge transmissions, to metric sizes. They have the 5.61 first gear.
Bellhousing mount pattern: top horiz.:10.078
Bot. horiz: 9.738
vert.: 6.043
Input bearing retainer: 5.60"

I still need the following info:
1. INput spline count of SM465
2. Bell housing bolt pattern of sm465
3. Diameter of INput shaft pilot of SM465
4. INput shaft throwout bearing diameter SM465
5. Total 'stick out' length of INput shaft SM465

If anyone has a 465 laying about, and a caliper, perhaps...???

It looks like to me that the best trans choice is the 1995 transmission, but I need the above info to know.
