Just got done tuneing carb

got vac guage and tuned carb, 12 deg advance, idle about 700 holding about 21hg on guage has a slight drop of about 1/2hg every now and then should I worry about it?

Also I have my dist on ported vac and lots of people say I should run it on full vac when I do it pulls it into advance at idle is that not bad? Just dont want to kill anything and I dont know how worn dist. is will be getting a new one soon(old one is squeeking really bad).

Thanks

Dist should be on ported vacuum.
Edit: Unless you have that funny looking thing that it goes into & then goes out of there to the dist. Then I'm not sure. My 70 has a little "canister" that hooks up to the carb & out of that there are two lines, one of which goes to the dist.

You will start a heated debate asking ported or not-ported. The intermitent drop in vacuume could be caused by alot of things, misfires, sticking valves etc... 21 in of mercury is really good, I only get around 10. Does it seem to idle any better?
