Unhappy so my '82 isnt totally gone...

got a call from my buddy i was selling my '82 C10 to tonight. he had made partial payment on it, and took the cab and frame just to get it out of my way. when i answered the phone, he asked if i knew of somewhere that i could get rid of the rest of the parts. i can think of some things that i thought of using on my 86, so i told him yeah. i assumed that when he said that he had bought another truck for the body. nope. we had some pretty severe winds on Monday, and living in a heavily wooded area, yeah, you get the picture. a rather large tree fell, and landed square in the middle of the cab, smashing it flat. im just going to stockpile most of the parts for spares. on a good note, i've got spare parts now, but i'm out $350.

Why are you out of anything?

You were selling a truck. He was buying. He took possesion under the condition he owed you money. Nothing different then a loan.

He owes you $350. It is not your fault the truck got totaled while in his possesion. THat's his problem.

This is why I don't sell vehicles to friends and for the most part stopped fixing friends vehicles.

Ditto. That and fixing computers, printers, programs, .....etc.....

Now if they are close friends and I don't care to get paid and they are helping, sure....

he didnt take everything, nor did he pay for everything. its all good though, i'll use the heater box to eliminate the AC in my 86, and i'll use the front sheetmetal as spares for my 86 too, becuause i know they're gonna get trashed.
