I am trying to figure out whhat to sheet my flatbed floor with. I have a few ideas but I would like to hear what you guys think it should be done in

I REALLY like that bright aluminum!. My buddy just sprayed one with gloss black and looks sweet too.

What will the bed be used for? Work or play. A wood bed would look good if done like a pickup bed with finished wood and polished stainless strips.

I REALLY like that bright aluminum!.

I second that, been thinking about doing that here soon. Rugged for work but shines nice for play. Just my 2 cents. But show us pics of whatever you choose!

Aluminum looks good only one real problem with it is that it is a soft metal and will scratch real easy. and very pricey. Diamond plate steal also looks nice but very very heavy. Wood always looks nice and probally a lot cheaper all the way around, the next quetion is how fancy with wood do you want to get? Oak? Pine? Put some nice runners down it like a regular bed, Blacked out, Polished stainless? maybe something like a hardwood flooring like in a house so you can get some girls to do some dancing on? JMO

His truck is going to be a daily summer cruiser. It won't be hauling huge loads of anything, but should look nice. He has an idea in his head for a nice wooden bed. We're working on the truck this weekend, and we'll brainstorm about how it can be done. Please keep your suggestions coming

Go with wood. Durable and easily replaced if you do damage it.

I agree, i usta load barns(hay contractor)we had a semi and a flat bed pick-up with a "shiney diamond plate bed" trust me that stuff gets really hot to the touch,on sunny days ! jeff

I was talking to a freind just the other day about th bed in my truck and that I had wanted to drop weight yet still have it look descent, He had suggested using the veneer? that they use on Boat decks, just another thought.

Build the deck with a lip around it.Put a solid work bed floor in it.Then use 1/4 in. plywood to fit inside the lip and finish it however you choose for show.That way you have the best of both worlds.Pull the plywood and show finish off to work slip it into the lipped bed for play.

sand blast a plate of sheet metal then finish it with spray on liner
