Blazer / Truck

I saw a 4x4 70-72 truck that looked like it had a blazer bed on it . ( Real short ). How could this be built ? Blazer frame , truck cab , blazer bed w/ a truck bed front somehow mounted to it . Has anyone seen this before ? I kinda like it !

back when the blazers were new, Im pretty sure an aftermarket company made a kit to convert it into a truck. it had a cab top (not sure if that was fiberglass or metal), and a metal bulkhead that went behind the drivers seat to enclose the "bed".

either that or it was custom, who knows.

It looks like it's just a half cab conversion like they had for the broncos and scouts. Just a fiberglass half cab and a steel wall to enclose the cab...

They sold "half cab" tops for Blazers (someone is making them again new). It is a fiberglass top with a steal divider in the bed.

A while back, someone posted some photos of Blazers that a guy was welding the truck tops onto and selling them. Personally, A huge part of the appeal of a blazer is the removable top, full top or half top.

Here is what a truck cab and a shortened bed look like on a Blazer frame with the stock Blazer wheelbase.
I personally think that the blazer/truck conversions look a lot better, just not sure about the flex of the frame and body.

The second pic of the truck in the garage belongs to a close friend of my family. He actually uses the back of a truck cab on his rigs. If you look close at all 3 pics, you notice that his is seamless where the bed seam would be. The others arn't. I have more pics of that truck and also another one at home. I will post them later.

After looking at the pics that I have, I realize that none of them show the body lines as well as the one posted. I should have took more pictures of the actual mods instead of the interiors. This pic he is another one of his blazer/trucks. As far of the flex on his rigs, it is the same as any blazer out there.

Everything "appears" to be a pretty straightforward swap, but I'm still not sure about the front of the bed if a bulkhead will bolt in place like all the other beds I've seen on regular trucks . Comprendie !

You use the top and back section of a truck cab and weld it in. You don’t need anything from a truck bed, just the cab. I am sure that if you wanted to, you could bolt it in so that you still had the ability to remove the top. The ones that I have seen were done permanently.

WORNBRAKES, I thought that was a picture that was the blazer with the back of a truck cab on it. I remember when you posted the pics showing what your buddy does. He does very nice work, but I still like the convertable asspect of a Blazer.

I agree with you bouncytruck. I finally got me a Blazer after all of these years of being around our style trucks. The one I bought did not come with a top and for now, I have no intention of getting one. I had a few diff chances of getting a gen 2 Blaz in the past few years but I had to have a gen 1.
