Question 72 chevy Pickup engine swap?????

Hi, I seen that you may have some information or advice on the 67-72 message board about what I am debating about.I picked up this Pickup in Alabama last spring. The motor, a 350 with factory ac is getting tired and I'm thinking of either going with the ZZ430 or the 502/502. I plan on putting a TH-400 tranny and a detriot locker in the rear end and a set of Mickey Thompson I-Block tires. I want the truck to move but also be able to drive to Maine From Northeast Ct from which I'am from. Thank You Bye the way nice web page plus vehicles Thanks Again.

Not that there is anything wrong with your choices, but have you noticed gas prices lately? Welcome to the board!

If you decide to go the big block route I would encourage you to start looking for and obtaining brackets and motor mount pieces right away. The motors and trannys are readily obtainable but the bracketry in particular can be hard to find. Good luck and welcome to a great site

That is Mt Washington in the Presidental Range. Highest peak in the Northeast and home to the "world's worst weather" .

The building is the Mt Washington Hotel . It is the Grande Dame of the late 19th century Grand Hotels. For you history and economics buffs, it is where the Bretton Woods Agreement was signed.

It's in my backyard.

Welcome
