HELP!! My key is stuck in the door!!
I got to school today and i went to lock the passenger side door. I locked it and went to pull the key out and it wont come out. The lock wont turn to the full vertical position, it stops at about 10:30 and i cant figure out why. I think something broke or came undone inside the door. Does anyone know where i can find a picture for the insides of these doors. Im going to work on it 2nd and 3rd hour. Hopefully i can fix it because that is my ignition key also.

Well, at least these trucks aren't rocket science to hot-wire. Can you get the door open (from inside or outside). I hope no one just walks by and gets it out for you. It may be missing by the time 2nd and 3rd period roll around.

I don't have a Pic and can't take one ( my truck is still at the painters) but there is just one flat spring clip inside the door that holds the lock in place ,
All you have to do is remove the door panel remove the clip and the lock will come out . I have the parts in the garage if you need a pic of the clip.. Hope this helps

I got it out! luckly my door wont lock now. Its lucky because i didnt have to bust out the window or call a locksmith. I opend the door and pulled the door panel off. There is a fork that the arm of the lock goes into, the lock arm was inbetween the arms of the fork from the factory. In my case the arm of the lock went past the fork and wouldnt go back in thats why i couldnt get it to go verticle again. I put it back and the lock went verticle again and i got my key out. Bad thing is, now i cant lock my door for some reason. My golf clubs are in the truck, but i live in a very small town (187 people) and i dont think it will get stolen, ill have to work on it when i get home.

Good work! Locks can be a real pain! I would take it all apart and rebuild or replace it all! And keep it all oiled!

An easy way to get into your truck (DONT BREAK GLASS). Take a pocket knife, slip through rubber seal on wing vent and pop up the little latch. Open the wing vent and roll down the window. Reach in window and unlock, open door, steal contents
Too easy isn't it?!

Sometimes you can pound your fist on the vent window where the latch is & vibrate it open.

if your truck has a slider, you can shove a pocket knife blade in between the sliding panes and pop the latch open.
