Removing Voltage Reg.
I'm needing a little help.
I'm trying to take off my voltage regulator and it's putting up a fight. It looks like the bolts holding it on are retained by rubber bushings or something and it just spins and doesn't un-thread. I wanted to ask for some advice before I put too much leverage on it. I want to take it apart, rewire it, and hook the 2 wire alt up to the old wires to make it look stock. As always, thanks. Ro

There are nuts on those 3 little bolts. The nut is on the front side of the rad support

I had to get violent with mine and pull it through the radiator support and then get the nuts off.

I took a pair of needle nose and ripped the rubber off on the grill-side of the radiator support. There is a nut under all of that rubber bushing. I didn't have any problems with the ripping the bushing apart either.

I'll give taking the rubber bushing off a shot. Has anyone taken out the regulator stuff and rewired one of these before? I plan on wiring the F terminal to 3, and 2 to 4. Anyone see any problems with this?

I ripped two of my dried out rubber bushings as well. Anyone know where I can get replacements?

Any resto supplier will have them. Your local hardware store should carry them as well. They are called "well nuts".
