Yes I'm tarded.

Sorry but I don't recommend anything besides Q-jets.

The carb I showed you is really the carb you need. I wasn't making a joke. All the tuning is already done for you. Don't let the size fool you. My 1904 is 795 cfm.

yeah, the stock one on my 305 was 795 too, i beleive. it ran like a beast.

i was thinking about getting one of the holley street-avenger carbs. and $350 isnt that bad of a price for a good performance carb that is already tuned either.

do you know anything about the build quailty on the jet brand?

but, my insides are telling me that a qjet would be best, they are just so darn expensive. but i guess so are the holleys and the edelbrock carbs.

I can't personally can't say how they are since I've never ran one but from everything I've read and seen others say, they are a quality product. I would buy one if I had it to do over. Already tuned and cheaper than my 1904.

Thought you were broke? Can't even afford to buy a billet water neck? Now you can buy a new carb, electric fan and alternator?

Haven't you learned anything? Don't ever bid on something early. Snipe it man. Snipe it.

so do you think it makes more sense to get one of these carbs over trying to tweak my stock q? i know it would be easier for me... i was reading all that stuff on your old site about tweaking and tuning and the secondaries etc. fascinating stuff, but a lot to wrap my head around.

it already sounds the more practical choice, but if it is going to be cheaper too.....

Yes, I really do. Like I said, reading about what they do and seeing what others say, I would buy one in a heartbeat. To me, it's a no brainer for a Q-jet novice. Of course to me this takes the fun out of it. I like saying, I tuned it myself.

yeah, there is a sense of satisfaction lost, but at least i can say i bolted it on, and feel pretty proud.

i think i am going to seriously look into that as my next purchase. i just dropped six bills on a bumper, carpet, seatbelts, dashpad, and some other random stuff, so i’ll need to chill for a few before I buy anything over the price of a gasket. Of course… she doesn’t look under the hood… hmmmm. lol

thanks

Edelelbrock thunder series carbs are the same thing as the rest like the never going to die 1406 except you can tune the vaccum operated secondaries, somthing holleys have allowed for years. Its not a great performance carb IMO.
