Seat compatability?

My '65 GMC is finally about to hit the street...but my stock seat is totally trashed. I've got a line on a nice stock 67-72 bench seat...anyone put one of these in a 60-66? How did it fit? Any info/pics would be a big help...thanks!

bench seat

i have a 65 c10 i havent started to work on yet. it has a horse blanket type cover in very good conditon & feels like a split fore-aft in center of seat. track & fold mechanisms work great. i have had it out to remove & clean out tank. i am going to buckets do to disabled with bad back. make me a reasonable offer & you can stay stock. may trade for towaway 73-86 2wd junk 1/2 t truck for parts jsut want front end ps, pb stuff,or pair of buckets. good luck whatever u do. jw

I know the 88-98 chevy truck seats fit real nice. I have a pretty nice seat out of a 65 that is in real good condition.

dannyb, the 67-72 truck seat is a bolt in. I have one in my 65. The only problem that I have with it is that it doesn't go back as far as the original.

Thanks to all for the info...looks like I've got some good options. Whatever I end up with, I'll be sure to post pics.

99-05 tahoe, suburban, yukon, silverado seats work great, and they also have built in seatbelts for us pre 66' people. In street trucks mag they have project old school, and they did a seat search for 60-66 trucks, 99-05 chevy seats placed #1, and 88-98 chevy seats second.

Here's what the previous owner threw in mine. I want to say these are 68-69 seats with custom upholstery. I love it, the middle seat folds down for an armrest for driver and passenger, or bottom flips up for a big glove box/storage area.
