Tan 73-87 interiors
Does anyone have a tan interior in their truck? I am looking for a picture or two of tan interiors, so if you have one, I would really appreciate it if you could post it/them.
Thanks

rolson1039, yes...if you can take a pic that would be great!
Chris, is the dash in your Blazer brown? Did it come that way from the General? The reason I am asking is because when i purchased my 73, it had a tan interior with a black dash pad...so it didn't match too well. I am now getting ready to assemble the interior and need to paint the dash a matching color...not black. I am more than likely going to paint it tan (the same color as the headliner trim), but am not sure if that would be too much. What do you all think?

Yes, the pad is brown, as well as the underside of the dash (the metal painted part where the glove box is). It came like that from the factory I believe. The door jambs are the dark brown also.

Jeff,
My red 86 has a tan interior and it has the light colored carpet, door panels and headliner with the dark brown dash pad. My 83 Dually is the same way. Since you're planning to color your dash pad anyways, I'd go with the tan instead of brown. I think I've seen that in a custom truck in a magazine, I'll see if I can find it. The brown dash pads in my trucks don't bother me, but I think they'd look better tan.

Joe...thanks, I was kind of feeling the same way...didn't want a brown dash pad all too much (doesn't match yellow very well).
Jonboy...that is PERFECT, exactly what I was looking for. I am going to go ahead and paint the dash the same color tan as the trim and door panels. Thanks everyone!

Jeff if you think about most cars or trucks came with a dark dash pad regardless of the color. I assume it was a safety issue trying to prevent glare. That's the bad part about a light colored dash. It reflects on the inside of your windshield making it harder to see out in the bright sun.
Regardless, since your not "restoring" your truck I would go with a tan colored pad too...
