Can any body do me a favor and take a measurement for me please? I need to get an accurate measurement from the center of one trailing arm to the center of the other at the rear most point with the truck at stock ride height. I need this measurement from a stock C-20, (C-10 might work too if they are supposed to be the same), 1971 or 1972.

Right where the two halves are put together, at the very back of the arms where its the butt end of the arm, from one seam to the other in a straight line would be excellent.

I've got to straighten out what the PO did back there to get rid of some massive driveline vibration and I thought I'd start with making sure the geometry is correct first.

If you can wait a couple of hours, I'll be going out to the garage later. Can you live with a '67 C-20 long bed, stock height?

I honestly don't know. Maybe if we get a few responses we can see if they are all supposed to be the same distance apart.

I'll take all offers at this time.

Looks like 42 3/8, center to center. I'm almost sure the 67-72 will be the same.

Where is SouthEastern? I know Northeast is up near Erie, about 2 1/2 north of me.

Don't know if this will help but here you are; '72 GMC C-1500 short bed = 42.5" center to center.

My 71 C10 is 42 1/2

looks like 42.5" center to center is what I should be looking for on the trailing arms. May have to move an axle perch, I'll check today.

Here's another question: Is it OK on a two piece driveshaft to have the back half of the shaft offset slightly to one side? The second half not exactly in a straight line with the tranny and first half?

I'm about 25 miles northwest of Valley Forge, PA.
