It's time for a weekly session of "What did you get done". I delivered my tach dash and personalized license plate's for my 77 to my buddy n2billet. He's going to take it to Stoked Out Specialties so they can be put in my truck. The tilt column was delivered there too.
The bed of my 77 is painted, buffed and installed. The doors are off though. They got the power window and lock kit installed, but had to pull the doors to use the factory accordian boots.

The rest of the weekend was spent hanging out in San Antonio with my family, and my n2billets family. Here's a few pics of where we stayed...

Most of my woirk wasnot on trucks. More cleaning of trees and etc to hopefully start the new shop in a few weeks. Fixed some wiring in the 82's heater system and worked with the carb and a tune up. Still have to mess with the carb some. Dang I am soooooo out of touch/practice with carbs. I think it's taking 80,000 misses to get the hit on this tuneup.

Painted bed rails for the 70. Tried to start it, but now it decided not to pass spark instead of not passing gas.

Oh well on to next weekend. Should get some more done once I get through the city planners on the shop OK.

Hey it's hard work tracking this stuff down.

Mike I wish time would allow me to do this stuff, but it just doesn't seem to be available any more. I had planned to do the power window/lock conversion myself. After a couple weeks not having time to get the parts ordered, I gave up.

I really want the 77 looking good for the summer season. It looks like I'll have to have it done or go without...

my son and i took the original ( yes original) upper ball joints, front springs, front calipers and front shocks out of the 86 and replaced them with new ones. the shocks were so shot that they didnt shoot back when fully compressed, and the springs were rusted bad.. we wont even get into the condition of the ball joints. The calipers werent too bad, i just couldnt get the bleeders out to bleed em so i bit the bullet and just replaced them.
I still need to do the lower ball joints , but ive been too cheap to get the ball joint press tool thing, and i was just too dern tired to be bothered putting in the new rubber lines for the brake calipers, as trying to get the rivets out of the upper ball joints ranked right up there with getting your tonsils removed by way of your anus. Thats a job for another day!!
I also now have the need to get the rear springs re arced as when my c 10 is parked behind the minivan, it almost looks like its getting ready to mount it!! Hope your weekend was as productive!!

Sat, I helped a buddy put some Gibson headers on his project truck @ Stoked Out Specialties. I got some more #'s from the mystery crate motors we/I bought. Hopefully tomorrow night I'll get a chance to pull the oil pan on one & see if it's 2 or 4 bolt block. I peeked in on N2TRUX's dismantled 77 (still alot to do).

Today I got laundry duty.... I had to go to the washateria to wash our extra-oversized king size comforter (took 3 freakin' hours to wash/dry the humongous thing). Got home & caught the last 90 laps of the race & then went out & started the annual spring scalping of the lawn. I managed to get the front yard mostly done (I ran out of light so didn't get to do final clean-up. There's still alot of dead grass on the sidewalks, driveway, & curbs).

I was hoping to get some cleaning done on the garage to make room for my 2 new small-blocks..... oh yeah, I bought some new/old dog dish caps for my RestoRod.

well last weekend all i got done was married, this weekend all i got done was oil change and greasing on my truck, changed the spark plugs, fuel filter, recharged the a/c on my wifes car. anybody that remebers me asking about it it was a 00 merc mystique and the timing belt jumped and a valve came down and finally stuck in a piston. lol so got a head start on makeing hers reliable for me to drive to work n back

Cranked my truck twice. Got my 4-wheeler stuck in the backyard. Put it in the truck and ran down to the carwash and washed it.

Installed a new B&M trans cooler, verified my cam is flat, removed my sway bar for better articulation. This week its install my B&M drain plug and then my B&M tranpak. Then next weekend it will probably be a cam swap to fix the bad cam.

Since I only got half of my parts in, I didn't do anything to the truck.

Sat: I almost finished building a rock wall around a tree in my yard and went to the vet.

Sun: I went to the World of Wheels car show and saw the General Lee and Cooter. Only one 73-87 was there, but there was a great looking 71-72 swb too. Then my buddy and I went and messed with his project, his grandpa's 50 Ford. It's got a 6 volt system that is grounded backwards. Took it for a spin. It is all original and is going to be one hell of a car when we get done with it.

Got home and found a 7 foot long branch sticking straight out of the ground in my yard. It fell off of my tree, but it sure looks like someone stuck it there. Very weird.

I bolted my seat belt back in, hung my lic. plates, and got a tail lense so my truck is legal on the street.

Ohhhh yea.....drove my truck around town for the first time in 14 months since I bought it...

Put a new steering column in my truck, as well as cleaned up ALL the wiring under the dash. Pulled out what was LEFT of the electric brakes my dad had jerry rigged on there.
Also took the vette out and raced a Big Block 68 Firebird (468cid, .600" Solid Cam, Single Plane, Rectangle Port Heads, Drag Radials)
Spent some time cleaning up the backyard aswell...
