I am not alowed to run a hight rise intake manifold. woud you guys think I shud run for mud racing?? I have a 350 sbc and I will be runing 33" or 35" tires

Anything over stock intake height.

I don't consier and Edelbrock Peformer a high rise intake (more like low-mid rise, maybe a little higher than a stock truck intake). A Perfomrer RPM woudl be though. The performer is a decent mild performance intake...better check with the racing guys to make sure it is kosher to use one though.

call and ask them specifically what you can use we deal with these ill written unclear rules all the time with circle track cars. call and make sure its the only way to know

Edelbrock makes an intake called "torker" dont know if thats what they mean.

We used to run a torker on a sb 400 in a chevette bogger

worked good with a 292 comp cam and a 3500 rpm stall converter

we were running in a pretty much open class with only tire size limited

we ran 33 inch tires with a 2:1 transfer case ratio and 3.73 axle gears and hit 2nd gear when we got the revs up to 5500+.....man that was a lot of fun!!

The only way to know for sure is to call them and ask. Our definitions of "high rise" will undoubtedly vary too much for you to be sure about what you can and can't use.

I'd love to see your rules..
Does it change with different classes???
because we have
Stock( no mods and tires no bigger than 32's and no lift)
Hot street (exhaust, intake and carb up to 36" tires)
Modified (no blowers or Nos and streetable)
X-class (rail buggies or other with NOs or other mods doing 2-3 seconds in 200 Ft mud pits.)

I run Hot Street and Modified over here in the East side of Washington(check blazer pic in sig)
with a 355 and performer air gap rpm intake plus other mods..

I agree that you should call and ask.I also would suggest you get exact rules from the sanctioning body.A buddy ran a street class many years ago and was required to run a low rise intake.Nowhere did the rules state he could not run a carb spacer.By the third race weekend everyone had copied him but he already had a win and a top 5.
