The relay for the auxillary battery is very simple. It has (3) wires connected to it and the case is grounded. Two of the wires go to the batteries, (one to each battery). The third wire goes to the fuse panel, ignition unfused. When the ignition switch is on the relay is pulled in and the two wires are connected, thus connecting the two batteries. When the ignition switch is off, the two batteries are not connected to each other.

I have the diagram in my assembly manual and I can fax you a
copy if you need it. Otherwise, someone may post it. I can look at a factory relay tomorrow to see if there is a number on it, if you like.

Otherwise you can buy a relay that will do what you need it to do.

The Auxillary battery relay looks just like a Ford Starter Relay,,, Don't mistake them though,, The Starter relay will burn out within a few minutes of Continous use.. The relay I bought, Was for a Horse Trailer. Some of the stores have no clue to what you want...
I wired mine up for a couple of different uses, One was to be able to start the vehicle off of the Aux. battery in case the Main goes down. I had a three way switch in the cab. Switch off, no connection to Aux. battery at all, Switch in left position, Aux. is connected when key is "ON" Switch in Right position, The Aux. battery is connected all of the time.

Hey mudder, the aux battery has a tray on the drivers side that looks very much like the passenger side one, a mirror immage, and just a little higher.
