Does anybody know..........

OK so i got me some bucket seats finally, and the best part about it was they were FREEEEE!!!!!!! I just love crazy people!!!! anyway I wanna build me a center console to go inbetween em and I was thinking I can take some thin metal rods and build a frame by welding and bending them together but then the part i run into after that is WHAT the heck do I cover em in? I'm thinking theres some type of fiberglass wrap that you get it wet and when it dries it becomes hard. Has anybody heard of this stuff? Then I was thinking slap some bondo over that sand and paint and bam i got me a custom center console. Hey if anybody ever heard of this before or has better ideas let me know. I'm trying to stay away from wood because it doesn't get many contours and its not what i'm after.

Fiberglass would be a piece of cake. So would carbon fiber. Here's a forum that covers all that and is owned by a company that sells everything you need. Doing it with these materials it might be easier to make your mold from wood or even cardboard.
