wtt edelbrock 650 for a 750
Now that I put a big block in my truck I will need a bigger carb. I would like to trade a very good 1 year old edelbrock 1406 650 cfm for a 750 cfm. Would prefer a edelbrok but would consider a holley too. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks JIM
P.S. Could send pics upon request.

if you dont get any takers, you might try calling edelbrock and find out just how far your 650 can be jetted up, I have heard the 750s arent very good for some reason.

Jim; Just pulled out the book ,here are the setting I have my 1406 at when it was on the truck ;
Rods 73/42 primary .098 ( stock jets) Sec .101 I also came as close to these timing figures as I could with the HEI. GM factory manual. The specs are :- 0 degrees @ 930 RPM; 2 @ 1260 RPM; 16 @ 2400 RPM and 30 @ 4400 RPM. Vacuum advance specs are 0 degrees @ 8" hg and 20 degrees @ 17" h.g. Initial ignition timing is 8 degrees advance @ 600 RPM ( idle speed). ... Above specs are from GM 1971 Chevrolet Truck Service Manual. ... Another GM reference is the 'GM/AC/Delco Tune-up Specs Manual # SD-100. These specs call for a 10-13 degree centrifugal advance @ 2000 RPM and a total advance ( vacuum & centrifugal ) of 28 to 35 @ 2000 RPM...... When I installed my unit about 10 years ago; I used an adjustable timing lite and set the timing to 35 degrees @ 2000.........No problems and was well satisfied with the engine performance.............
