Need Help.....Junkyarding.....

I was wondering if I could get everyone to post items to look for when Junkyarding for parts for our era of truck.

For Example...tow hooks. Desirable and rare

The reason I ask is I was tipped off by a friend that recently got a job at a local scrap yard has 4-5 of our trucks between the years of 68-72 they intend to crush this spring. I hope to make a trip out to check what's there this Monday and would like to know what to look for that should be saved etc, etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Brian

Right off the top my head I come up with these things I usually look for Tachometer, tilt column, speedwarning, air conditioning controller, power steering gear box, bucket seats, console, posi rearend, radio delete, choke delete, cargo light 71-72,67-68 bucket seats, clean radiator supports, clean battery boxes,tailgates,am/fm radio, deluxe dash and radio knobs, woodgrain trim, crackfree steering wheels,bb brackets, clean and rustfree fenders, driverside stepside fender w/o cutouts, cheyenne super glovebox lids.A lot of these is readily availiable but if you can get it at a good price and its a good looking part not junk, then get....

I would say to take pics of what is left to the trucks and see if there is anything left that hasn't rusted away considering they are here in Ontario, hehe.

If they are going to crush them sometimes you can" buy" the whole truck, strip it and leave it for them to crush. usually cheaper than buying just individual parts. All they care about is weight anyhow. If you can do that, grab everything salvageable. If you find too many towhooks or tilts or tachs etc, i can store for you.

Actually I had wondered about that...individually it would be $$$. If I can do it you can bet I'll strip her of everything usable for sure...
