89 s10 steam in exhaust
I just bought an 89 s10 blazer it has a 4.3 L engine. I am losing water and oil and when the gas tank is FULL the smell of gas is so strong that you can taste it. I need help troubleshooting the steam comming from the exhust. The only thing I know of that could cause this is a blown head gasket however there is no water in the oil. I cannot tell where the water is comming from. What else could cause this other than a bad head gasket? Thanks for any help or advise.

Thanks for the info nova. Is there a simple way to check the block or heads to see if they are cracked in the combustion chamber? Or am I looking at tearing the whole thing apart to find out? WHat do I need to look for? Wouldnt water in the combustion make the car run bad?
Thanx, Rachel |

im not 100% dure how to verify cracked block or heads, but it sure sound like your burning water. does it use antifreeze? if the exaust is moist and cool its burning water, and it should run ruff, or mis...if the crack is bad enough. and check your plugs to...for water/corrosion, etc.
