Hmmm, interesting. I don't know what the non A/C controls look like in the full size cars, but I know the A/C set up is the exact same as the truck one...I wonder if this is actually an Impalla heater controll or something.

Well for my 1000 th post I have to say it looks like 60 something Impala. I have a bunch of these for 60's Impalas and they do not go straight in. They need the same adapter bracket that the A/C ones use and the levers do not actuate in the correct directions for a heater only truck. They can be jury rigged in but it takes some work and some thinkin'. Even after that hot will be cold and cold will be hot. Now I could be mistaken as I can't see all of the detail for the part and that may be a Chevelle unit as others have stated.

It will fit in our trucks, that is what I have put in my truck and it looks alot better. Mine came out of a 65 impala. The defrost lever works correctly but you will need to get a longer cable because it comes out of the left side of the control unit and you have to loop it in the dash to come down on the right side. The air inlet lever works backwards but on mine I mounted the cable on the topside of the unit and hooked it up on the bar that sticks threw the top to move the fan switch and it works great. The heat is backwards so I don't have it hooked up, because either I use hot or cold nothing in the middle, and I just have a cable comeing out of the heater core to adjust temp.

YEP.. I USED EM A FEW TIMES IN TRUCKS THAT I'VE BUILT. THEY ARE A BOLT IN. YOU NEED THE SAME ADAPTER AS THE A/C CONTROLLERS FOR OUR TRUCKS, & THE TEMP. WILL BE BACKWORDS (HOT IS NOW COLD & VISE VERSA) BUT IT'S A SIMPLE SWAP, & THEY SURE LOOK BETTER THAN THE STOCK ONES. I THINK MINE CAME FROM 64 OR 65 IMPALAS. JOHN

I DID MENTION IT, & EVEN SOLD ONE OF THESE HEATER CONTROLS TO A BOARD MEMBER (I DON'T REMEMBER WHO, BUT I'M PRETTY SURE HE WAS FROM TEXAS) WHO PUT IT IN HIS TRUCK & WAS VERY VERY HAPPY WITH THE RESULT. THIS WAS ALMOST 2 YEARS AGO. I REMEMBER THAT LONGHORNMAN (WHO WENT BY ANOTHER NAME THEN) SAID THAT HE HAD SEEN IT DONE, & CLAIMED TO KNOW ALL ABOUT IT THEN. JOHN
