Unhappy Hood Stuck Problem

Was working on the truck this morning, llifted the hood open then when time to bring it down, the passenger side hinge froze up and I creased the hood a bit. How do I get it unstuck?

Spray some WD40 on all the pivot areas, then push the hood upwards & release a few times to help the WD spread into the areas. Bring it downward real easy & don't force it. Once you get it loose, wait a couple of days for the WD to evaporate, then lube it with something more permanent. White lithium works great & won't wash away, but it's kinda messy. I've used Break Free CLP (from the gun store) with good success too.

Thanks! Used some penetrating oil and carefully got it down. Now I know why they sell those hood braces and how prone our hoods can get that kink in them.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the heads up on the hood in Tigard. Hood is not bad, just a little crease. My plans is to get a Goodmark cowl hood in the near future, so my $$'s will be dedicated to that purchase. Going to the swap meet this Friday, wonder what I will find?
