Squeling noise?
Still fixing tiny things on my 78 Automatic GMC,noticed today, when i give it some gas,i get a squeling noise. Most noticeble when i give it any amount of gas going down the road also. Checked the power steering fluid and that is fine, how low would the tranny fluid have to be to do this?

have you checked any of your accessory belts. Trans won't make this noise, and if it was the truck wouldnt move.

It is possible (maybe remote) that it could be the transmission. The front pump can make a lot of noise when it fails. I would look at the belts. Replace them if they need it. It could possibly be something like a water pump, alternator. I think the new belts would fix it. Are the belts loose?
