What do you guys think about the painless wiring harness for our trucks, the one that is complete with fuse panel. Do you think it is worth the price? Has anyone used one?

funny you ask, I was kinda of wondering the same, they come highly recommended from everyone I have had the chance to talk with. painless and there is another company that I looked into a few years back, but cant remember there name. I have stripped the wiring out of my truck 3 times once for fun and for restoration purposes, then next time was because smoke started to bellow out of my dash about a year after I rewired. I plan to rewire it again for my cadillac escalade gauge cluster, so I figure while I am tackling the cluster again, may as well do the entire thing right this time.
edit* o.k. so it was only twice I rewired, this comming up time will be the third time.

I thought about trying one also, after I did one on a friends 55 Bel Air I pretty much decided to do it. The wires are marked every 18 " and pre bundled for the compartment it goes to.

I went with the painless 18 circuit. All I can say is...Buy it. You won't be dissapointed. My 9 year old son could install it. Make sure you get the one specific to 67-72 Chevy trucks. All wires are correctly color coded AND each wire has a printline that tells you exactly what that wire goes to.

I've had the kit in the box for about 6 months now, and to be honest, having no electrical experience, it's a bit intimidating. That and having to pull all the old wires out. But if it's as easy as people say, guess it's time to "man up."

Mine looked intimidating until I started installing it. There's not as many wires as it looks like sitting in the box, they are just really long. You have to do some trimming but the installation is very easy as long as you read the instructions.

Do they have all the factory connectors on the ends, or do you have to reuse some of your existing ones?
