five lug disk brake conversion

I would like to know if any body makes a five lug disk brake conversion for 70 model c/10 where you don't have to replace your spindles. I'm new to the forum and any help would be apreciated.

I've never seen one that you don't replace your spindle. You can get a disc brake spindle to fit all your 70 model ball joints and tie rods in either stock height or 2.5" drop.

Everything I've read, you can't use drum brake spindles with disc brakes...

Well, there is one out there, if I am reading it correctly. It is on the www.chevyduty.com website. Part number 71-977C5. If you enter this part number in the SEARCH box, you can read it for yourself. This is the description (the site has pictures, too)

Our Price: $799.95
Quantity
Our complete conversion kit allows you to change your 6-lug drum brakes to the more commonly used 5 on 4 3/4 disc brakes. A wheel change is required, but most enthusiast want to step up to the popular 5-lug setup anyway. Your stock spindle is retained and you get the increased performance of disc brakes. Kit includes rotors, caliper brackets, bearings, seals, spindle nuts, dust caps, banjo bolts, brake holes, brake booster, master cylinder, proportioning valve, and mounting hardware.

(*No Free Shipping-These kits are heavy-Shipping Costs range from $30-$80 per kit depending on your delivery area)

The drawback is that it is a car lug pattern and components, may not be stout enough for our trucks.

I agree with krue, why would you want a car pattern on the front, go to ECE, get the spindles and get a set of 6 lug rotors to match your rear pattern. ECE is expensive, but they have quality unlike anything i've seen.

Okay folks....settle down. Read from the beginning.....NO ONE mentioned a particular bolt pattern. I supplied the requested information. Ask for general info, get a general answer. To me, standard pattern is 6-lug anyways. Next.

Settle down? I'm settled, just supplying opinion that he may not think about. Ever bought anything expensive and wish you hadn't a week later?

I'm okay now. I finally had time to eat my Cheerios. I have bought many-an-item that I wish I had waited on or not bought at all. If I make it 'till Friday afternoon, I will be all better
