DASH HELP!!!!
does any one know where i can get a dash lens. i am planning on putting togther a camaro tach and speedo combo for my truck, the only problem is that i used the old lens as a test part to see what would remove the numbers on the lens, i found a shot of carb cleaner would take it right off, so when i got my new lens today i did the samething, but this time the carb cleaner melted the plastic, so now i am stuck, if anyone has any advice on how to get the numbers off with out ruining the plastic, that would be great, already tried paint thinner, plastic polish, brake fluid, an egg, and even soda, anything that cuts paint, nothing is working PLEASE HELP

Since its wrecked already, try some oven cleaner, that may do it, but it may harm it, I don't know for sure.

I think someone was saying to use polish...maybe it was rubbing compound, but I'd think the compound would gouge it.

It does i already tried that, polishing and rubbing compound, even tried it with a buffing wheel on my dremel, all that did was sling the plastic polish in my face

I have done 3 now and I used a razor blade really lightly and laquer thinner. The lines are raised so blade will strip them off but---------go really slow. Then clean lightly just where lines were with laquer thinner. every once in a while use windex so laquer thinner doesn't eat into plastic lens.Big trick is to take your time!!!

Maybe denatured alcohol. I use it all the time on plastic with good results.
