Shift Indicator Anyone?
I have been looking for a column shift indicator for my 72. Can't find it anywhere.. not any in LMC or My Chevy Duty magazine. Any help would be great.

I think there is one on ebay right now. It should come up if you type in "67-72 chevy indicator"

2low72,
I've got one, if you are looking for a non-tilt. The fiber cable has been cut, but the rest of it is in good shape. I'll try to get a pic. Where are you in TX?

You mean they have lights? all my others have been sticks either granny low, or 3rd column,, my 72,, is auto,, just wondered how to read the gear shift,, figured it was clear so the light from the dashboard could shine through it,, now the question.. how do you fix or trouble shoot one that doesnt work?

That thing that looks like a wire is actually a fiber optic cable. You don't see any of that high tech stuff on a 72 Ford! The one in the pic came on an old column laying in the back of my truck when I bought it. Someone had spliced the fiber with a crimp splice, so I'm pretty sure it won't transmit enough light. The other end plugs into the back of the gauge panel, next to one of the back lights.
