LMC Dual Exhaust

I remember a while back reading some good things about these systems, (yes I know LMC sucks for the most part from my own experiences with em ) but I am getting ready to make a decision, so any opinions would be great. I also would like to know what brand, and what length of glasspacks they include with the kit. Thanks

Well, I can't answer either of your questions But, I did just receive a turbo-mufflered kit from them this week. EXCELLENT mandrel bends, no kinks, everything seems to fit well on the floor, and all parts needed are there. I think installation will be a snap.

Also, I ordered an "H" pipe kit from Jeg's High Performance to install at the same time. That kit was made by the same company, and the same guy even QC'd both the Jeg's kit and the LMC kit. Still don't know the manufacturer, but I think the quality is fantastic.

FWIW, most of my parts have came from LMC for this truck. I have received the best service from them, and for the most part, even the best price

I am also wondering about this kit. There were pictures posted back in Nov. of it but they no longer show up. My question is will this system work on a lowered truck? I have an ECE 4/6 drop and was thinking of buying this kit. Ifm anyone can help I would appreciate it too, thanks,
Mike

I was curious about this system also. Please let me know how LMC's system works out.

I put this same kit on my truck. Fits o.k., looks and sounds nice. Not sure about that big of a drop but should work. The lowest spot on my system is where they loop down to go around the front of the trailing arms, I bet they are a good 5" or 6" below the trailing arms at that point.

We have had good luck with the kits. We have them on 2x4's, 4x4's, (long and short), Burb and Blazer. The tailpipes exit behind the wheels and the height can be adjusted. The pipes are galvanized 2 1/4" and last a long time.

On the 4x4's we have been cutting 1" out of the upper right hand
header pipe which helps with the clearance over the transfer case, (which is always a problem for clearance).

Here is a pic of where the tailpipe exits on the left side.

I put the kit on my truck a while back. It fits okay, but not great. The problem areas I had are at the manifold connections. One side is higher than the other. On the passenge side the head pipe rides close to the frame, in fact it started chaffing the brake line. Also the angles from the horizontal run up to the exhaust manifold are not quite right, it does not sit square with the manifold. I am also going to go back and weld up the joints, at least tack weld them so the joints don't twist.

I have the LMC kit on my 4x4. It was made by a company west of Minneapolis and drop shipped to my door.

It fit good. Went on easy. The only thing I had to do was buy some NAPA universal fit hangers because my truck was originally a single exhaust and didn't have a hanger on the other side.

And I'll add to what glock35ipsc said. I don't buy all my stuff from LMC but when I do buy there it fits and the service is good.

I have a question for you guys who have installed it. Will it bolt right up to the stock angled ramhorns and is there anything that is not included in the kit? I have some crappy headers and a worn out exhaust on my truck that needs replaced. thanks for any help.

The pipes bolt up to the manifolds and the fit is good. The kits are pretty complete, but we substitute heavy duty clamps for the light duty ones and we prefer the rubber strap hangers to the ones included.

The pipes are heavy gage and the standard clamps will not squeeze the pipes enough. If you weld the joints than it would not be a problem.

I ordered the kit from JC whitney here's the link: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...threadid=97185

The pics are down a ways. Made by a company called Heart Throb I beleive. The pipes are aluminized and fairly thick.

Many thanks for the info, I think I'm going to try it. My local muffler shop bent me up a system and it works ok, I just don't like all the bends he put in it to make it work, It's real ugly. Thanks again,
Mike
