I'm sorry to hear. Being military myself I know the dangers of deployments..
But to ask total strangers to donate money is pushing it..
Seeing how Millitary has a good life insurance now.
At least I know The USAF has a 275,000 benifit and goes to the family..

Plus not to be mean or rude but how can you trust this type of thing ?
Internet is full of cons.

Sorry but from my stand point I would never have a reason for family to ask for more money if god forbid something happen to me..

And may someone above be watching over your brother.
because that is a very dangerous place.

I agree with above comments about asking for or sending money as 22 year E-8 who recently retired. I will say one thing though. you would be surprised, no, amazed at the folks who decline the insurance (SGLI) or don't have the beneficiary updated when they divorce or have other life altering events. I was a 1st Sgt for a while and had several cases like that. One kid died in a car wreck and ALL his money went to his ex-wife. His new wife and kid got SQUAT! There was nothing we could do about it. My commander and I made every senior non-comm sit down with each and every troop and go over their stuff to make sure. Getting in their business? Yeah, but better than the alternative. Only problem was we found some senior guys had the same problems...

Just wanted to offer my condolences...the guys are right about asking total strangers to donate money here on the net when it is crawling with scams...i myself am Active Duty Air Force and have been to the region so i know its tough,,,hope all works out and he had his SGLI in order.....I know its part of outprocessing here before you deploy to review all that paperwork and update it if necessary....
