I am ready to begin the prep for paint on the axles.
I would like to know the best way to do this. I plan to have them sandblasted.
So, do I disassemble every piece, duct tape certain areas, what about the seals, tie rods joints and so on?

most people who go to that much effort replace everything while doing the paint

we never take the chances of getting sand in the rear end. We take grinders with wire brushes and clean off the old paint. We also replace all the joints seals and everything. sounds like you'd be better off scrubbing everything down with some cleaner and then burshing on some new paint.

I don't think brushing will get it clean enough.
I will blast mine. And the parts do not need replacing. I will replace the seals.
