Here's a tip for white 72 door panels. If they are all chalked up lightly sand or bead blast them.... and I do mean lightly. The oxidized plastic will be removed leaving perfect flat (no gloss left) white door panels wtih all of the molded detail. After a few years the gloss will even return as the plastic ages. Works the same on other colors but looks like crap. Only the white ones look good as a flat color.

Vinnie thanks for the link but those are the standard 72 door panels. The cheyenne panels have slots and chrome trim rings and sometimes woodgrain inserts. 69 k5 thanks for input but the metal panels were not available for the 72 chevy pickups. Thanks anyway

Solver, Is there a difference between white and parchment? I think that the ones that I have may be parchment. The woodgrain inserts will need to be replaced too because they have rubbed off by the window crank. I will let them go cheap though!

SOLVER, I pulled the panels out of storage. One of them is slightly chalky and they both have a few scratches. They are driver quality, definitely not show quality. This is the better of the two:

For that price take em and try the sandblasting trick. I was amazed what it did for mine. You've got little to lose at that price.

69k5, do the doors that you removed the panels from have the small screw inside below the wing mirror?
If not, they are not 72 doors and not 72 panels. Or, someone may have changed the regulators and door panels to 71 back. It might be the rare instance that it was one of the first trucks built for 72 and thus had 71 parts but 72 doors are different and panels were not metal. Any of the vendor catalogs show this very well with LMC shpwing excellent color pics.

Breeh
Thanks for the reply I have an old pair here I am going to try sandblasting. If that works I may be interested. Problem is at that distance shipping may be more than panels. I'll let you know if you still have them after test

Remember to go very lightly. Just enough to knock off the oxidization and no more.
