Tailgate
Im going on a 600 mile journy in our 85 shortbed silverado... We have a quick disconnect tailgate, and was wondering if it would save a lot on gas if i took the tailgate off? or just opened it up, and left it down? These are all highway miles...
thanks a lot guys! oh, and thanks again for any replies.. for some reason after i make a post.. i cant reply again?? need to figure that out.. it keeps on saying im not signed in, then when i get all signed in again, it says the link doesnt work... but thanks again anyways! Chris

It will save a little gas mileage if you take it off or let it down but I would just take it completly off.

I'd take it off. At least then you'll know where its at, and you can put it back on when needed. (as opposed to it falling along the road side). Enjoy your trip! Jon
