Trailing Arms
I was wondering if someone could tell me if the trailing arms are the same between C10, C20, and short and long beds. I need to get a set for a C20 I picked up and it would make it easier in the bone yard if I knew which ones fit.
I was thinking about making a set if I couldn't find some for a reasonable price. The truck will be a beater so it's not important that it be original. Mine are both rusted in two. Thanks for the help, Bob

C/20 is beefed up a little, but other than that I think they are the same.

They are all the same length. 3/4 ton ones have a metal strip spot welded to the bottom for strength.
I have a pair of rustfree ones i will sell. But you gotta pick them up. Or we could make a deal and meet halfway. $125.00 for the pair. $150 i will meet you halfway. Good deal since we are in Ohio. Well worth that. Unless you want to spend multiple days hunting junkyards looking for a decent one. Let alone 2. Mine are already off and ready to go. PM me or email me tapp@ctcn.net

I'll vouge for fine69, good guy to deal with. You'll probably have a hard time finding good ones in junk yards around here...they all have rust and are splitting. (I'd cover any replacement with POR-15 personally)

I have a complete chassis for sale in Cincy. $200.00. I'm keeping the rearend & wheels. Truck has 25K on it.

Regardless where you get your used ones make sure you scrub them down with a wire brush, and take them to a weld shop to get them patched up. Mine had cracks and breaks due to cyclic loading, so I had them reinforced a little bit before they went into the paint shop...

Thanks for all the input. I found a set in a bone yard that are good for $40 if I take them off or $100 if they take them off. It's a bare frame so I'll be heading there with tools in hand Friday.
I was thinking I would weld the seams both top and bottom and then box the sides with 10ga. That should really stiffen them up and keep them from rusting as well. The truck is a 70 c20 that is in fair shape. I will be using it to haul stone, mulch and topsoil and as a driver. I bought the truck for $100 on Ebay with a nice running 350/th350. The guy didn't have any pics of it but I emailed him and he said it ran great and had some new parts on it so I figured $100 would be worth it for the parts alone. Thanks again Bob
