465 trans ?

i am wanting to know about what kind of gas mileage you guys that have sm465 trannys get and if you have a 4.10 rear end i also want to know what kind of gas mileage you get with the combo and an approximate top speed.

19 mpg open road in the 89, but it has TBI on it... that was a while back i tested it, got alotta miles on it since then. top speed i dont know, but its winding pretty tight at 80 mph

the SM465 has a 1:1 4th gear, so it will get approximately the same gas mileage as a truck with a TH350 or TH400 (and the same axle gears). you might get a little extra power to the ground with a 4 speed, because of the parasitic power loss inherent in autos.
