Backup Lights Revisited

Original thread
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...=backup+lights

I went through the tail lights again and found that the reverse lights were not plugged into the wiring harness however in ragenrat38s pic you will see two sets of wires going to the switch. Purple and green. I have been under the dash looking for those wires and I cannot find them. Were they a different color in a 68. Also something else that I thought of tonight is that since this truck was a manual column from the factory then I am looking for something different? Anybody know how to get these backup lights working?

Thanks

Yes, since you have a manual truck, those wires aren't there on the colimn.
Look under the truck in the tranny area, look for a greasey nasty unplugged 2 wire plug. Wipe it off and see if it is green, if it is, then you can run it to a toggle or something just as cool and have manually operated back up lights.

I could not find a 2 wire plug around the tranny area. Can you be more specific about where it should be?

Thanks
