Exclamation HELP 1972 GMC Sierra Grande Camper Special

I hope that someone can help me.

I own a 1972 3/4 Sierra Grande GMC Camper Special.
It has a 402/400
A/T, P/S, P/B, T/W, A/C (not working), Dual Fuel Tanks (factory), dual batteries, 4 core radiator, Tach Dash, wood grain interior, extra long bed (9 feet), Barden Bumper which extends out.

This truck is loaded to the hilt.

What I am trying to find out is how much this truck could be worth.
What is the low end and high end of the truck.
It is not in perfect shape by no means.

Any information that I have been able to find out about this year truck has been on the Sierra Grande only. Not about the Camper Special.

If anyone has any information that you can pass along that would be great.

I don't think the "camper special" designation is going to add to the value. I'd take the info you've found on Sierra Grande's and go from there.

I've got a 72 "custom camper" with all the bells and whistles. On a scale of 1-10 it's about a 7, rebuilt engine and tranny 3K miles ago, and I estimate it's worth about $4K as-is.

since it is a GMC, it won't have longhorn badges...but is there a seam visible in the bedside about 6" back from the front?

It's a GMC version of Longhorn. They seem to go in decent shape , but with some needs, for around $2500. But the value is really what someone is willing to pay.

paintlover70, check out the link in my signiture, you have a GMC version of the Longhorn. (your bed is only 8 1/2 foot long, they go by inside measurements)

There were 3328 3/4 ton chevy longhorns built in 72, the accepted chevy to GMC ratio is 3 chevies to one GMC, so that would imply there were only about 1104 made, count in some of your options, and you do have a pretty rare rig.
The bad part is, most ppl looking for a truck to fix up, want a 1/2 ton short wheelbase, and that severly reduces the value. (Huge bummer if you're selling...big plus if you want to buy them.)
I have seen both Longhorns and the GMC versions go for well over 10,000...but most of these were completed restorations.
Check out my site, and feel free to ask us anything on your truck, you stumbled upon the best site on the web for the 67 - 72 trucks.
Welcome to the board from Central Ohio.
