It is the top of the line option package.
This is directly out of the G.M. restoration catalog, which is a reprint of the option books used when these trucks were new. Depending on what year, there was a few things that chainged, but this is the '69 CST option package; Available on Chassis cab, and pickup models only. Includes full depth foam seat with delux vynal trim, carpeting, special insulation, Chromed front bumper, CST emblems, door trim panels, cigar lighter, headliner, bright side marker reflectors, cargo lamp, bright control knobs and pedal trim, rear/front window bright trim and bright wing vent trim. Fleet side pick ups also got body side lower trim, bright fuller cap, and special simulated wood-grained paneling on the tailgate. Going though the other year Total price....$190...sugested retail price, 204.45. ------------------ '69 G.M.C. 350/350. My 69 CST doesn't have a cargo light.
Also, the lower body trim is woodgrain like the tail gate.

You know, this weekend I discovered Longhorn_jeff_69's CST '69 Longhorn doesn't have one either...I wonder if this is an early production thing or what. ('69 was the first year for the cargo light)

Maybe I missed it but the Chevy Trucks from 67-72 are known as the Custom Sports Truck era. Hence CST. My 70Ccst did not have a gig. lighter...but it will soon.
Also look on GMCPAULS Web sight under "67-72 are the Hottest Truck" and Paul has a great article on these trucks from I believe Classic Trucks Magazine. Simple stated these trucks have matched the icon status of the Tri Five trucks. Now you know the rest of the story. HEHEHE Regards, 70cst

Trucks had CST option from 67-70 then replaced it with the Cheyenne for 71-72. Blazers used the CST from 69-72.

71Chev, does your fender say CST on it? most of the Cheyenes say CST on the glove box.
the only place I have ever heard these rigs called CST trucks, is on these boards. Calling a base model truck a CST would be misleading since it would not have the CST option package. ------------------ '69 G.M.C. 350/350. Yes it is a CST. Emblems and badges are gone. Don't like them. But the fender emblem was Custom/10
The build sheet for my 71 CST is option code Z84 CUST SPORT TRK ------------------

The Z-84 Custom Sport Truck option was available every year. The Cheyenne Super Trim Package which did not necassarily net the Z-84 option was just the highest interior trim option that was begun to be offered in 1971.

I'm still confused. You could get a 71-72 truck with a CST package, but no outside markings or just cheyenne markings ?????
My 72 Blazer with CST badges has Cheyennne listed on the glove box. I'll look the option code up when I get home, but what is going on there? ------------------ Marysville, WA 72 K5 CST Blazer 72 1/2t 2wd Sierra Grande 68 3/4t 2wd Chev Custom 68 3/4t 4wd Chev Basket 93 1/2t burb - wifes

My understanding of it is - 71-72 Trucks were always badged as Cheyennes even though the glove box build sheet may still read "CST" (especially in 71). Blazers were badged as CST's in all the years even though it may read "Cheyenne" on a 72 glove box. (I'm guessing as mentioned by Dan72CST) Burbs were not available as either "CST" or "Cheyenne". "Custom" was the highest trim level for them.
Yes it is confusing!
