sb alternator bracket?
what are you guys with small blocks using for an alternator bracket, i have a later model 350 in my truck but my truck has a homemade alternator bracket that does not hold it inline with the pulleys on the motor, i was looking at some later alternator brackets while at the parts store but the ones the had where made to mount on the other side of the truck, i am going to go to the parts yard this next week to see what i can come up with, but i want to see what else is out there and get an idea on what i want.

He might be needing the long water pump Brackets. Depending if he is using the pulleys off the late model motor.

The long style has passenger side alternator, the short pump has driver's side mounted alternator.
Ragenrat posted the right style of brackets for our trucks. It's the short pump type and it mounts to the front of the driver's side head in the threaded holes. If it's not lining up, you have the wrong pulleys on your engine.

I acutally prefer the Later Style brackets There alot More Available ,
So unless your going for a resto you dont nessacairly need them . If you do have the Long Water Pump And Cant Get A bracket Let Me know I have A Ton Of them You would need three brackets In all one that goes from the water pump to in front of the alternator. One that is basically a spacer that goes from alternator To the Head The long bolt , And then the top bracket wich goes from the top of the water pump to the alternator and has the slider on it. You need to have a tapped hole in the front of the intake to use the later style brackets. There were a few that went on the thermostat housing. But There not as common. |
