Patch Panels
I pretty much need to replace the lower part of my '72 Suburban as the rust-belt environment has taken it's toll on the truck. Are there any better panels than others as far as quality or fit? Are there any lower patch panels that are unavailable for the Suburbans, and which parts should I buy to modify for these areas?
Does anyone make a patch panel for repairing the window channel on the inside of a clamshell tailgate? Thanks in advance,

Welcome to the best board around. Here are two members that have patch panels.
http://www.classicheartbeat.com/ http://www.gmcpaulstruckparts.com/ There may other vendors also that I don't know about.

Thanks Sub4rvr...
It is an awesome board and I have spent the evening looking through old messages. Lots of good stuff here.... I have ordered from GMCPaul's in the past and had nothing but great service and communications. I guess there is no need to fix something that ain't broke!

So far, the only patch panel that can't be had(unless there is a new source) is the third door rocker panel, and that can be made from a pickup rocker, but it isn't a nice easy fit up. And, the long stretches in front of the rear tires, but I think those sections could be made easily enough in a fab shop.

Thanks jku...
I was wondering if the lower sections could be made from a bedside? I might wait for the 3rd door rocker to come out because I am a novice at bodywork and am in no rush. I thought that the 'Burb might be a good project for learning how do do the sheetmetal work. John

4th door metal?
How about the 4th door?
Ok there isn't a 4th door but that is where I'm coming across a lot of bondo and it is cracked. So I need to sand it down and see how bad it is underneath. Does anyone know if I can use the LH drivers door skin to patch this part? How about adding a fourth door? How about rear hatch springs? Does anyone know who carrys them?

Re: Patch Panels
Does, anyone know where I can get a lower front section in front of the wheel arch. I've got the ones for a pickup, If that's the best panel out there I might as well make my own.
