Ok, now I'm confused. The last thing not working on my green K20 was the fuel gage. I determined that the sending unit was bad and removed it. I have at least 5 other sending units from other trucks and they are all different.

The tank in my green K20 was out of a 70 truck. It has a fitting on it approximately 7/16" in diameter. I had one out a 71, but it had a bigger fitting around 5/8" in diameter. Some of my other ones appeared to have a rubber hose connection.

I guess I haven't paid that much attention to these things over the years.

Did they change the fittings over the years? Can I get one to fit the 1970 fitting (~7/16")???

I have never seen a 7/16" hex fitting on a gas line, (1/2" maybe?).

You must have a 5/16" fuel line which is what was used on 6 cylinders. A 5/8" hex fitting is used on the 3/8" lines.

They are all 3/8" line just have different fittings (female) on the end that connects to the fuel line that goes through the floor.

Since the only difference that have seen is between the 3/8" line fittings and the 5/16" line fittings, I am not sure what you have. If you have a 3/8" line and a 7/16" fitting that only leaves a 1/32"
wall on the fitting which seems impossible.

If it were me I would get a sender with the larger fitting and change the line fitting to fit. Of the (9) trucks that we have 70-72
all have the larger fittings.
