Anti-Freeze in Oil..Please Advise
Ok guys need some advice, posted this in the Engine forum but also wanted to post here as i usually get the most response...Built a 350 for my 71 c10....installed it, starts fine but it looks like im getting antifreeze in the oil...the oil on the dipstick has risen about a quart and the oil now has a greenish tint to it....the engine has only been ran for a total of about 20 minutes so far....im thinking possible bad seal on the head gasket or blown head gasket??? Where else does the oiling system and the coolant system cross paths were there could be some leakage into the oil???? Please shoot me some advice here..im going to drain the oil tommorrow and start with some fresh oil...

It could be an intake gasket leaking, that would be alot easier than pulling the heads off. Wishfull thinking..good luck

Possible causes:
Damaged head gasket Cracked head Cracked block (and with heavy duty engines) Leaking oil cooler Leaking cylinder inner seals Leaking injector seals (if you have them) If you haven't done so already, do a compression test. If you find some weak cylinders, do a wet test by squirting a little oil in the low cylinders. If there is no compression increase, particularly in two weak side by side cylinders, I'd be suspicious of my head gasket.

I would lean towards the intake gasket myself if it is still green.
Gasket probably slipped down when you set the manifold. |

Intake gasket sounds most likely to me. What kind of heads are you running? Are they Vortecs?
