i would weld the holes in the cowl up, water *may* get trapped in there, and rust it out. water in that area is the reason i scrapped my 82 cab. as for the ones for the hood hinges, you could let them go, as the area that they open up into has a direct path for water to drain out. this is the same area used for the kick panel vents. the cowl panel (part of the cab) on 73-87 trucks are the same, save for the slots for the hood hinges on an 81+ cab. you shouldnt have any problems bolting the hood bumpers to the cowl panel.

Not exactly sure what your asking [not trying to be rude, sorry] but the hood only bolts on with 4 bolts, 2 on each corner in back. No other spots. I would swap everything over: fenders, hood, radiator support, inner fenders

You will have to use the wiper arms from the 73-80 truck if you're going with the 73-80 fenders and hood. The shafts are shorter because they run under the hood. I'm currently in the process of completely redoing my 79 and I'm using an 85 cab and so far everything is going ok.
